Most notably, Highlands Links became the first course in Atlantic Canada to win the designation of “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System of Canada. Highlands Links is operated by Parks Canada on behalf of the people of Canada in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Ingonish Beach, Cape Breton. The Park, located at the northern tip of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, protects 950 square km (366 sq. miles) of unforgettable highland and coastal wilderness. The Park is an exceptional location that is the true testimony to the Parks Canada philosophy of "Proudly Bringing You Canada At Its Best."
